Food Tales

Ah, the sights and sounds of the MN State Fair.

Moooooooo.

We saw cows, pigs, goats, sheep... and cow poop, pig poop, goat poop, you get the idea.

We skipped the chicken and horse barns to go find food-on-sticks.

Corn dog, check.

"Scotch egg," check.

Mmm. Hard-boiled egg, deep-fried in wrapped-around sausage.

Note: no photos of Alyssa and Cody eating foods on sticks, because they WUSSED OUT!

Next up, not on a stick, but sufficiently unusual to count towards food-on-stick tally: bacon strips dipped in dark chocolate.

You'll note the vendor of this fine concoction in the background. Yep, get your chocolate chip cookies AND bacon at the same stand!

Finally, Cody took the plunge.

Going.

Gone. 'Not bad.'

On Saturday, we all went to our favorite Vietnamese pho restaurant, where the kids worked on their chop stick skills.

Last hugs before their departure. Happy Cousins.

I Hab a Code

First, the throat on fire.

Now, the drippy and stuffy nose.

Yay.

Aside from that, here are some photos from my/our latest adventures:

With my friend of over 20 years, Ora -- during her wedding day in Denver.

Her son, Elias, and stepdaughter, Riley.

The lucky groom, Shannon.

Audrey's first tent city, constructed this week by her visiting cousin, Alyssa.

Below is The Shmoo with Alyssa.

We all went to a big outdoor pool today:

Cody and Alyssa in all their watery glory.

Now I must take 50 bazillion cc's of Vitamin C and copious amounts of lozenges and go to bed.

Ken's Got Antlers

I think this photo from Tracy and Lisa's visit aptly sums up the tenor of our times together during their stay!
